VFR Over The Top Rating

Often, the weather at your departure point and destination is clear, but there is low ceilings, precipitation or poor weather in between. This rating will allow you, under certain parameters, to depart, fly over the poor weather and land at your destination.

Prerequisite:

Private Pilot License

Category 3 Aviation Medical

Minimum Age of 17 Years

Structure:

Flight lessons are scheduled to reflect the need of the individual student.

Ground school is not required.

No written test administrated.

Flight exams are not required.

Course completion:

Students receive a VFR over the Top rating after completing a minimum of 15 hours additional flight time.

The 15 hours flight time must include the following:

– 15 hours Dual instrument instruction (students may have acquired 5 hours during their private pilot license.)

Tuition:

Course cost as based on a student average is approximately $2,970.00 (see note). All tuition is subject to 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Note: Students who have not completed 5 hours instrument prior to this course can expect the tuition cost to be approximately $4,205.00.

International Students:

This program is a Designated Learning Program and eligible to receive foreign nationals on a study permit.
