Roland Morton – President
I obtained my Commercial Pilot Licence in 1996, and have been employed in the aviation industry since that time. I currently hold an Airline Transport Pilot Licence, with a Class 1 Flight Instructor Rating. Over the years, I have flown a variety of single and multi-engine aircraft, throughout North America. In 2002, Excel Flight Training Incorporated was born, and since then, I have invested most of my time and energy in the business of flight training.
As President, and on behalf of all of the staff at Excel Flight Training Incorporated, I welcome you to our flight school, and hope you find aviation as challenging and rewarding as we do.

Chandler Cook – Flight Instructor
I began my flying as a student at Excel Flight Training in the summer of 2001. I continued on and finished the Professional Pilot Program and Instructor Rating and have been teaching since 2005. I currently hold my Class 2 Instructor Rating and Airline Transport Pilots License. I have always been intrigued with aviation from a young age and enjoy working at Excel.

Mansoor Khawaja – Flight Instructor

With a passion for Aviation since the age of 6, aviation has always had a special place in my heart. (Some people call more politely to this as aviation BUG)

I earned my United Kingdom Private Pilot License in 1978. Special thanks to my Instructor Norman Clayton – Royal Airforce. I always try to replicate his dedication of teaching. I enjoyed the privilege of this License almost each and every corner of the world by flying over chain of mountains over Asia, blue oceans of Far East, Deserts of Arabia and lush green planes of Europe. All the pleasant spectacular Pilot’s eye views are unexplainable.

Finally, my dream became true, when I earned my FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate in 1988 followed by the Instrument Rating. I was always very impressed from my Flight Instructors. (How dare they are trying to give you wings, whereas God could have given the wings to human being more conveniently). This feeling ever urged me to become a Flight Instructor.

In pursuance to get my Flight Instructor’s Rating, I availed the opportunity to impart Flight instruction in various countries including United Arab Emirates, Dubai International Airport and Karachi International Airport. Although English is my fourth language, I manage to handle successfully the students whose English is not first language.

In 2001, I migrated to Canada, with all my related qualifications but in the wake of unfortunate mishap event of September 11, to get the job in my relevant Aviation field became impossible.

However, to keep my teaching skills flourish I started a Driver Training School in Edmonton (later on in Calgary and Lethbridge), and spent huge number of hours on the Roads facing extreme weather conditions to transfer my knowledge of the Safe Driving to protect human beings and their properties.

Am happy that during all this period always welcomed local learners in general and particularly the immigrants from various parts of the world and devoted my time & skills diligently to get rid of their back home unsafe driving habits by including SAFE ROAD DRIVING CONFIDENCE following Canadian Traffic laws!

Fortunately, while driving back home from USA, I met Roland Morton (President of Excel Flight Inc). His back-up support made me to come back in my favorite activity.

I am enjoying imparting Flight Instruction as a Canadian and FAA Flight Instructor. I also provide the Flight Review Service for FAA Pilot Certificates.

If you have a dream to fly, we can arrange a Discovery Flight or a Tour of the City of Lethbridge

“Learning is a change in behavior and flying is a change of attitude”.

Logan Reese – Flight Instructor
I grew up on a farm operating all kinds of heavy machinery, but I always dreamed of being in machines that are light enough to fly! There was a lot to learn and many skills to develop for me to feel confident and safe as a pilot. The instructors at Excel Flight Training helped me get there. I enjoy going places few people venture to and I enjoy going to those places by air. I quickly learned those sorts of back-country adventures require an understanding of a particular aircraft’s limitations and good training to safely fly to those limits. More recently, I found an interest in aerobatics and have enjoyed learning about and exploring those same aircraft limitations from a different perspective. There is always more to learn and more skills to hone. Excel Flight Training is a place where my dreams came true. I look forward to helping you realize your own flying dreams!
